My Astoria Palawan Travel guide 2017

So, I've been talking about Astoria in my previous vlogs that is because me & my husband availed of their membership when we were in Boracay last year  2016.

The club is called  Astoria Vacation and Leisure Club Inc. (AVLCI) and with that we got a complimentary 3 days vacation in Southeast Asia & another 3 days 2 nights  in Astoria Palawan, these complimentary stay has a validity of 6 months, and since we cannot claim it during public holidays and we have prior plans in the 3rd quarter of this year 2017, we went ahead and booked our 3 days 2 nights stay in Astoria Palawan last May 19-21, 2017 originally our plan was to stay in Astoria after our tour in Coron & El nido, it would be nice to chill in this hotel  if our plan was followed, unfortunately the hotel was fully booked and we had to reversse our plan, our itinerary was  from Singapore to Manila to visit my Nanay & Tatay, then head to Puerto Princesa Palawan to stay in Astoria, and then El nido to Coron which I'm going to blog next time.

Ahsoon's photo taken in  the New Airport of Puerto Princesa

We arrived in the newly constructed airport in Puerto Princesa, from there we choose to ride a van going to Astoria for the P300.00 per head, all the Van are traveling all the way to El nido and Astoria is just about 1hr & 30 mins ride from the Airport, another way to reach this hotel is taking a tricycle from the Airport, then tell the driver to drop you off to the bus terminal in the city and take the bus going to San Rafael, this option is best because it is cheaper & go can buy some raw food that you can cook during your stay in the hotel.

Remember which Astoria your are heading to as there's another Astoria located in the city.

We arrived in the hotel past the hour of 3 in the afternoon and it was extremely humid, check-in was smooth the staff were courteous not to mentioned good looking front desk people, everybody makes you feel welcome.

The Canopy  or front desk

We were greeted by the hotel staff with a necklace souvenir  & a cold towel  plus a welcome drink of coconut shake with some bite size kakanin, awesome!

kakanin: pampawi ng gutom

Welcome drink: Coconut shake

Rico was assigned to guid us to our room,  1 bedroom suite non-smoking located in the 2nd level of the main building,  Rico was very friendly and courteous.

Now let's jump into the room tour!!

Here's our Mini-kitchen where we cooked our meal for the entire stay-cation, almost like your own kitchen complete with stove, rice cooker , microwave , kettle and even toaster how cool is that?

our room's mini-kitchen

of course you gotta have the fridge, in a normal hotel you can only  have a mini-fridge, in Astoria you got two-doors fridge how awesome is that! this is perfect if we were able to stop by the public market in the city well unfortunately we skipped that part and we end up eating process foods, yikes!

With bottle water , tea, coffee, sugar & creamer compliments replenish daily

Good quality cutlery

Moving on to the very spacious and neat toilet & shower room.

Your choice of shower

Sink is simple yet elegant

Toiletries brand name is Naturals supplied by ADA Cosmetic International from Germany, not the usual all in one shampoo & conditioner that you normally find in hotels.  I fell in love  with the the bath soap and their  lotion it smells really nice  like  you just came out of a spa. LOOVE it!!💖

Instantly this became my favourite soap
Nice & clean toilet

Neat!

Now here one of my favourite tools inside the room, I didn't know that hotels provide this  and I don't even know what it is called, pardon my ignorance hahaha 👀

This tool is very useful when tidying  your things without bending or messing the floor and  this avoid the luggage to have (more) scratches  as well, Thumbs up!

Let me go ahead and show you the dining area.

The wall design and furnitures colour combined together made the whole room looks beautiful and relaxing

Ahsoon really enjoyed his stay

got to have this pose 😅😅

Queen size bed

Now Lets proceed to the 2nd room we called it "The Green room" it has 2  Queen size bed with TV in front inside this room they also provide a kettle & a microwave and the usual complimentary bottled water, tea, coffee and creamer.

This  room also has its own closet  and own hotel supplies complete with slippers and even a laundry bag

And guess what makes us more happier? there's a bathtub! yay! 👏👏👏💞

Yah gotta try the tub right away!
There is an ongoing construction in front of the beach makes it not swimmable

what a lovely sunset

TIPs: 1. From Airport take the tricycle and visit the public market to buy your produce  if you plan to cook  during your stay  buy those essentials like water, cooking oil, rice, bread and even the dish washing liquid and sponge, although  there are few trading stores located just opposite the hotel, the price will not be as cheap as the one you can get from the public market and the selections are limited to process foods and all pack goods,  oh well hotel offers ala-carte meal in case you want to skip cooking.

2. After buying all the things that you need,  take bus to Astoria San Rafael  it will be cheaper than taking a van, even more cheaper from the Hotels Airport transfer of P2800 one way per van.

3. Bring mosquito repellent and apply it all over your exposed skin, there are a lot of  sand fleas  and other insects especially at the beach area.

4. Hotel will provide WIFI access within the resort premises, connection is very decent  I was able to upload photon on Facebook during our stay,  Each WiFi ticket is good for  2 devices which is valid during during your stay.

5. Pets are not allowed inside the resort.

This is just our day one and  I can't wait to share with you the rest of our Astoria Palawan photos. The best time to enjoy your stay in Astoria is when you have nothing to do but to chill & enjoy your room and the pool.

Watch out for the 2nd part of this blog coming really soon!

Leave you comment or question below and I will try my best to answer them right away.

My YouTube Story Part 1

Let me tell you my story..... I created my account way back in 2009  and during that time I just watch other people's content.

It was Michellle Phan that I got obsessed  with during those days, and then I found a tiny little bit of self confidence and I film myself using my samsung camera and edited my video using windows software.

My first ever video filming myself

That's the birth of my first ever beauty product review the Chin chun su review/Routine which I am very proud to say that it gained about 17K views from the day I uploaded it and as I write this blog today.

Maybe you're wondering why I didn't continue filming myself? it was because I didn't expect people will watch me, or my review/routine because of my break outs (pimples),  furthermore I experienced teasing a mild form of bullying from my mates those who saw my video " tinutukso nila ako na gumagamit ako ng chin chun su" and because of that  I lost confidence and stopped uploading content.

I continue with my life with out checking my Youtube account plus the fact that I forgot the password LOL.

Fast forward to Year 2016 it was during the summer time that I went home to The Philippines to spend time with my family. We went for day swim and I got tons of clips and photos, I decided to make a compilation of all the videos and add some effects and upload it to my channel. It was my first time to use iMovie, and I am totally clueless  how this video editor works.

My family in The Philippines.

In September 2016 me & my husband had a five days trip to Boracay, Aklan Philippines and again I got tons of clips and photo with me after the trip. This time I'm trying to build the confidence in vlogging while in public places.

on board Tiger airways bound to Kalibo

Here's my Boracay trip video clip compilation which I edit using iMovie.

my 1st boracay travel video

I got inspired that I created another one and uploaded it again on YouTube.

I can't get enough of boracay so I created another one  lol.

Thanks to our the family outing and Boracay trip, I was able to figure out what I really want to do this life. I WANT TO CREATE VIDEOS , CONTENT and SHARE INFORMATION to all the people out there.I got my confidence to start again, I went ahead and did a research online for the next content of channel and I came up with the most common question asked by my friends every time they see me.

I came up with 5 difficulties in finding job in Singapore, this video was uploaded in November  14, 2016 and it gained around 2,200+ plus views from day 1 and the views continue to climb up and I am very happy about that.

Now which part of this story that I got lost? ...... to be continue....

Childhood Tag Question

Warning: Long Blog ahead

Childhood questions Tag is one of the best and fun tag that I saw on YouTube, although I was not tag by a fellow content creator,  I tag myself voluntarily  yes I did  hahaha and I had so much fun talking about it and double the fun when I start to edit the video as I get to insert more pictures of my childhood.

This tag has 14 questions and here's my answer:

1. What was your favorite Cereal?
Well, I grew up in a Filipino family and Cereal was not part of my growing up, we grew up with fried rice and porridge and we called it "Lugaw".

There were days that my Nanay (Mother) will prepare Plain porridge and we will just add salt or sugar on it, on a feeling lucky day we will have a Champorado this is a type of  porridge that has cocoa in it , sometimes we add coconut milk and we uses black sticky rice and that's gonna be one of the best breakfast ever!

My favorite was arroz caldo a type of porridge that has chicken, sauteed in onions, ginger and garlic we also add chili leaves to complete the menu, honestly this is my go to porridge, you can't go wrong with ginger and onions after all.

2. What was your favorite show?
There were a lot of good shows during my childhood days,  although we didn't own a Television, we were lucky to have a family friend that has one and we were able to watch wit them. I cannot remember when exactly we had our first TV, and  first electricity maybe I'll share that in a different blog. Going back to my favorite show:

Before I was introduced to Sesame Street we had this Filipino children's show called Batibot, the show basically teaches kids how to read, count and even teaches good values. I really love this show and their mascots as well.
My favorite was kiko Matsing at  Pong Pagong
and Manang Bola.

Another  favorite show of mine was "Ok ka Fairy ko", this show was all about fairies and fantasies, evil vs good fight and teaches moral values as well.

There was a radio show title ABAKADA (if I can remember it right)  it was aired daily at 4pm to 5pm over the radio this was my favorite during my earlier years in primary or elementary, me and my siblings will tune in to this AM station and will sing along with the  :
