My Astoria Palawan Travel guide 2017

So, I've been talking about Astoria in my previous vlogs that is because me & my husband availed of their membership when we were in Boracay last year  2016.

The club is called  Astoria Vacation and Leisure Club Inc. (AVLCI) and with that we got a complimentary 3 days vacation in Southeast Asia & another 3 days 2 nights  in Astoria Palawan, these complimentary stay has a validity of 6 months, and since we cannot claim it during public holidays and we have prior plans in the 3rd quarter of this year 2017, we went ahead and booked our 3 days 2 nights stay in Astoria Palawan last May 19-21, 2017 originally our plan was to stay in Astoria after our tour in Coron & El nido, it would be nice to chill in this hotel  if our plan was followed, unfortunately the hotel was fully booked and we had to reversse our plan, our itinerary was  from Singapore to Manila to visit my Nanay & Tatay, then head to Puerto Princesa Palawan to stay in Astoria, and then El nido to Coron which I'm going to blog next time.

Ahsoon's photo taken in  the New Airport of Puerto Princesa

We arrived in the newly constructed airport in Puerto Princesa, from there we choose to ride a van going to Astoria for the P300.00 per head, all the Van are traveling all the way to El nido and Astoria is just about 1hr & 30 mins ride from the Airport, another way to reach this hotel is taking a tricycle from the Airport, then tell the driver to drop you off to the bus terminal in the city and take the bus going to San Rafael, this option is best because it is cheaper & go can buy some raw food that you can cook during your stay in the hotel.

Remember which Astoria your are heading to as there's another Astoria located in the city.

We arrived in the hotel past the hour of 3 in the afternoon and it was extremely humid, check-in was smooth the staff were courteous not to mentioned good looking front desk people, everybody makes you feel welcome.

The Canopy  or front desk

We were greeted by the hotel staff with a necklace souvenir  & a cold towel  plus a welcome drink of coconut shake with some bite size kakanin, awesome!

kakanin: pampawi ng gutom

Welcome drink: Coconut shake

Rico was assigned to guid us to our room,  1 bedroom suite non-smoking located in the 2nd level of the main building,  Rico was very friendly and courteous.

Now let's jump into the room tour!!

Here's our Mini-kitchen where we cooked our meal for the entire stay-cation, almost like your own kitchen complete with stove, rice cooker , microwave , kettle and even toaster how cool is that?

our room's mini-kitchen

of course you gotta have the fridge, in a normal hotel you can only  have a mini-fridge, in Astoria you got two-doors fridge how awesome is that! this is perfect if we were able to stop by the public market in the city well unfortunately we skipped that part and we end up eating process foods, yikes!

With bottle water , tea, coffee, sugar & creamer compliments replenish daily

Good quality cutlery

Moving on to the very spacious and neat toilet & shower room.

Your choice of shower

Sink is simple yet elegant

Toiletries brand name is Naturals supplied by ADA Cosmetic International from Germany, not the usual all in one shampoo & conditioner that you normally find in hotels.  I fell in love  with the the bath soap and their  lotion it smells really nice  like  you just came out of a spa. LOOVE it!!💖

Instantly this became my favourite soap
Nice & clean toilet

Neat!

Now here one of my favourite tools inside the room, I didn't know that hotels provide this  and I don't even know what it is called, pardon my ignorance hahaha 👀

This tool is very useful when tidying  your things without bending or messing the floor and  this avoid the luggage to have (more) scratches  as well, Thumbs up!

Let me go ahead and show you the dining area.

The wall design and furnitures colour combined together made the whole room looks beautiful and relaxing

Ahsoon really enjoyed his stay

got to have this pose 😅😅

Queen size bed

Now Lets proceed to the 2nd room we called it "The Green room" it has 2  Queen size bed with TV in front inside this room they also provide a kettle & a microwave and the usual complimentary bottled water, tea, coffee and creamer.

This  room also has its own closet  and own hotel supplies complete with slippers and even a laundry bag

And guess what makes us more happier? there's a bathtub! yay! 👏👏👏💞

Yah gotta try the tub right away!
There is an ongoing construction in front of the beach makes it not swimmable

what a lovely sunset

TIPs: 1. From Airport take the tricycle and visit the public market to buy your produce  if you plan to cook  during your stay  buy those essentials like water, cooking oil, rice, bread and even the dish washing liquid and sponge, although  there are few trading stores located just opposite the hotel, the price will not be as cheap as the one you can get from the public market and the selections are limited to process foods and all pack goods,  oh well hotel offers ala-carte meal in case you want to skip cooking.

2. After buying all the things that you need,  take bus to Astoria San Rafael  it will be cheaper than taking a van, even more cheaper from the Hotels Airport transfer of P2800 one way per van.

3. Bring mosquito repellent and apply it all over your exposed skin, there are a lot of  sand fleas  and other insects especially at the beach area.

4. Hotel will provide WIFI access within the resort premises, connection is very decent  I was able to upload photon on Facebook during our stay,  Each WiFi ticket is good for  2 devices which is valid during during your stay.

5. Pets are not allowed inside the resort.

This is just our day one and  I can't wait to share with you the rest of our Astoria Palawan photos. The best time to enjoy your stay in Astoria is when you have nothing to do but to chill & enjoy your room and the pool.

Watch out for the 2nd part of this blog coming really soon!

Leave you comment or question below and I will try my best to answer them right away.
