Hubaderang Eva | Tioman Travel Vlog again|

Another day in Tioman means another blogging opportunity for me.

Today, our wake up call is at 7am at this timing the sun is still not visible in the skyline of Tioman from where we are staying at, quickly we had our  breakfast  the usual, bread, sausages, tuna spread and some dried noodles  plus hot chocolate, just nice to keep us full just before lunch time. Using the motorbike that we rented the other day we drove to the Marine Center.

We went back to the village behind the mountain from the Marine Center , during the early years it was only accessible by a foot path  and a staircase to cross the mountain, thanks to the new tecnology nowadays the government of Tioman I supposed was kind enough to build a short road  to make it easier for the people to cross the mountain, not to mentioned this walkway enhanced the already  magnificent view of the ocean & mountain.

Our morning was spent well in this part of Tioman, there were no people in the beach, it was just me and ahsoon, we it was just 830 in the morning people started to come out by 9am to join day tour.

By 9.30 in the morning big waves are slowly coming in, smoke from the coconut tree is getting stronger, it is time to move my bum and change place because,  Ahsoon is already complaining that the smoke is giving him headache. On the other hand I kinda enjoyed the smoke it reminds me of my hometown in the Philippines, although we grow up in the City of Manila, we were brought up by our mother the kampong way or so called probinsyano way, we cooked our meal almost everyday using woods, and the smoke coming from that burning coconut tree reminds of that memory.

Here are some photos that  took when we tried to look for the small water falls.

Our first Stop at the gigantic rock formation behind me.

here's the pavement road going inside the jungle

it was steeper that it looks, I walk all the way up.

TIOMAN SLAND TRAVEL VLOG AUGUST 2017 part 1

Tioman island surprised us so much,  the locals are simply living the life like their island was not a tourist destination. Amazingly you cannot find souvenirs shops unlike other tourist destinations, although the island is a tax free, only the duty free shops sells souvenirs and some of the resorts in the island.

On our day 2  we rented a motorbike just because we thought that bicycle cannot climb the hills that we need to pass through so we can go back to the hotel.
The motorbike that we rent cost us RM90.00 for 1 day use, that's alot of money and the best way to maximize is to go back to marine center and play drone, swim and play with the fishes and maybe sun bath as well.

We woke up as early as 7am to prepare ourselves, have breakfast and gear up for a day full of activities.

A walk to another village

Behind the walkway from Marine center is another village that is more simple and peaceful,  there are chalets as well that you rent, there are scuba diving activities offers in this side of the island.

The water is crystal clear and there's a lot of corals in the shore

We catch the sunrise in this village although is kinda late already it was past 8am and the sun was actually out but still manage to hide behind the mountain.

Here are some photos taken from the Marine Center of Tioman Island

Singapore's National Day Parade 2017 - Pre Show

Welcome to Singapore's National Day Parade Pre-show 2017

We were surprised that there was a Pre-NDP show (short for National Day Parade) on the day that we decided to film something at the famous Singapore icon " The Merlion", during these days flying drone in the area is prohibited what else can we do? just  watch and enjoy the show although we were very far away from the platform.

NDP  returns to the Marina Bay floating platform  after almost  3 years meaning all the Singaporeans are thrilled and ecstatic about this return, only in this particular stage that  Singapore can showcase their Military Defense via  Air, Land & Water according to Singapore Authority.

Our Journey to Tioman Island Malaysia

Traveling is  fun yet painful in pocket for people like us that are just a start up  blogger / YouTuber, and in order to survive you've got to be resourceful, in this travel blog we revealed our secret to a budgeted travel that might help you in your future travels, take no that this is how we practice, it could work with you or not all.

We are out again after two months of  working our bum off, this time no plane ride this time we are heading to Tioman island in Johore Bahru Malaysia.

Tioman Island lies off the east coast of Peninsular Malaysia, in the South China Sea. It's a nature reserve, ringed by beaches. The area is known for its dive sites, which have corals, sea fans and sea sponges, as well as shipwrecks. The island is covered in tropical rainforests, home to butterflies, lizards and monkeys. On the east coast, the Juara Turtle Project is a hatchery that protects and studies sea turtles. courtesy of Wikipedia

1. How did we get there?
From Singapore we took the 1st train from Ang Mo Kio at 5:15 in the morning and alight to Woodlands, then transfer by bus 913 to Woodlands checkpoin, from the checkpoint another bus transfer 170 going to Malaysia custom, after all the clearing and scanning of luggages take the same bus number going to Larkin Bus Terminal.

Pointers:
  •  Larkin to Mersing Jetty this is a two hours coach ride without stopping, you better eat something and do your toilet business before you embark  in this journey.
  • Once you arrived at Mersing Port Jetty immediately you need to take taxi to Tanjong Gemok if your boat is from there, taxi ride will be approximately 35 to 40 mins depending on the traffic, taxi rate should be around RM 60.00 to 80.00 as of this writing. There are no buses going to Tanjong Gemok in case you're trying to find one online.
  •  After all the required road traveling it will be followed by a 2 hours boat ride to the island.
  • Take a motion sickness pills if you are  not confident in traveling by boat, as the whole ride can be rough and you don't want to cause trouble during the ride.

2. Where did we booked our bus ticket?
We booked our returned bus ticket online easybook.com

3. Where did we booked our Ferry boat ticket?
From the mainland we choose to travel to our resort by the ferry services provided by them,  or you can take other public ferry transfer like Cataferry, pick a bigger ferry  as the sea gets really rough.

4.  Where did we stayed?
We  rented a chalet at Berjaya Tioman Resort for six nights and seven days via RCI. You can check out their website right here.
